10 Days

The Iowa Caucus is ten days away and Florida Gov Ron DeSantis continues to swing for the fences against his top two presidential primary opponents—former President Donald Trump and Ambassador Nikki Haley.

DeSantis is locked with Haley for second place behind President Trump, and during a recent CNN town hall event, the popular governor from Florida questioned Trump’s campaign strategy in Iowa, and blistered Haley as being a “phony.”

DeSantis has invested the most of all 2024 GOP presidential candidates and has the most to lose, and it shows.

Trump has been campaigning in Iowa of late, but not in the way Haley, DeSantis, and Ramaswamy have.

DeSantis has been all over the place and that could pay huge dividends for him with Iowans, and could pull an upset in Iowa.

Donald Trump is running on his issues, Nikki Haley is running for her donor’s issues,” said DeSantis.

Trump will hold two rallies in Iowa... READ MORE

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) recently led a group of GOP lawmakers to Eagle Pass, Texas, to demand border security. The Biden Administration has claimed they require more funds to secure the border, to which Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL) viciously replied, "If my eyes had rolled any harder, they would have rolled out of *censored*," calling the White House's counter-demand "total crap" in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Evening Edit.

Rep. Cammack continued to not mince words when she added, "[President Biden] has been given more resources for the border and securing the border than any other time in history. This is absurd. And when he says he wants more money, let us not forget that he said he wants more money to process illegals faster."

As a result, Rep. Cammack stated continuing resolutions (CRs) for the Congressional budget are "no longer an option" as a government shutdown grows closer, saying, "We have to do the appropriations process, single-issue bills and secure the damn border."

Other Florida Republicans have similarly demanded the border crisis be treated as a standalone issue before any other bills would be considered, including Representatives Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), Byron Donalds (R-FL), and Cory Mills (R-FL).

Moreover, she predicted the current crisis would drive voters away from Democrats in the 2024 Election, especially as California intends to provide free healthcare to illegal migrants and Howard County, Maryland, will create an extra seat on state school boards only migrants can vote for.

"That kind of nonsense is going to drive people from the middle of the political spectrum to vote for conservatives because they do not like what is happening to their communities. The open border policies of Joe Biden have turned every town in America into a border town," Cammack continued.

California's new law went into effect with the new year starting, which critics have said will only strain the state's Medi-Cal program further, especially as California faces spending deficit problems.

In December, officials in Maryland's Howard County argued a position on the county school board, for which only illegal immigrants could vote, could feasibly exist based on the wording of a current provision in the system, which says a position on the school board is voted upon exclusively by public school students.

US Representative Cory Mills (R-Fl) expressed his commitment to either "shutdown the border or shutdown the government."

Representative Mills' comments are representative of many Republican lawmakers' willingness to compel Democrats to compromise on immigration reform and tighter border enforcement.

Mills outlined his legislative priority via X as passing "the 12 single-point Appropriation Bills with necessary cuts, reforms, economic growth strategy, and either shut the border or Shutdown the government.”

Last November, conservative lawmakers leveraged government funding to encourage Democrats and President Joe Biden to acquiesce to Republican requests for decreased spending and immigration enforcement.

A government shutdown was averted due to ex-House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy's passage of a temporary spending bill.

With such bill's expiration date nearing, Republicans are once again signaling their commitment to immigration enforcement and fiscal policy includes entering a government shutdown if necessary.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken recently visited Mexico to discuss joint immigration enforcement measures with Mexican officials. A joint US-Mexico press release described the trip reinforced both countries' mission to "address the root causes of migration, such as poverty, inequality, and violence."

However, many Republicans have accused Biden of generating the migrant crisis at the Southwest border via loose immigration laws and the deliberate lack of enforcement of existing immigration laws.

US Representative Anna Paulina-Luna (R-Fl) recently criticized Biden's immigration policies while warning of a new migrant caravan traveling towards the US through central America.

Representative Luna claimed border enforcement legislation is urgently needed to adequately regulate immigration flows across America's borders.

"To hear that this is somehow a humanitarian thing, and we need to just blanket wave these people in. One, it is stupid, but also it is a political talking point. And let me be clear about something. We absolutely have the ability to stop this, and we should " explained Luna.

House Republicans continue to demand action on the southern border, and the Representatives from Florida count among the most vocal. Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL) discussed the border crisis in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria, saying Democrats have been ignoring the issue "at their own political peril" and Americans will recognize current policies as "not humane."

"[Democrats] ignore it at their own political peril," said Rep. Cammack, "but also at the risk of our own national security." Having visited the border herself several times, she described seeing "little children that are being trafficked. You see women who have been abused. You see grown military-age men with tattoos on their faces claiming asylum. It is clear the entire immigration system is broken."

As such, Rep. Cammack stated, "We need to bifurcate the issue," meaning the border must be secure first and foremost before any other policies are considered, similar to demands by Representatives Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), Byron Donalds (R-FL), and Cory Mills (R-FL).

Substitute host Sheryl Casone pointed out that the Biden Administration has authorized the construction of additional border walls despite initial claims they would not "because quietly they know they have got a huge problem on their hands."

Cammack agreed, saying, "We are one terrorist attack away from a major, major loss of life but [also] a breach in our national security," as Rep. Luna, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL), and Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) has previously warned.

Moreover, Cammack highlighted the inability of Health and Human Services (HHS) to keep track of over 85,000 migrant children, for which Secretary Xavier Becerra was unable to answer in April.

"There is going to be a bombshell report that Americans are going to look up and say, 'what the heck is the Biden Administration doing? This is not a humane policy, this is not asylum," Cammack continued before speculating the border crisis is intentional, designed to "sway elections, to do things illegally," similar to speculation by Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL).

Nevertheless, she concluded this is precisely why Congress must demand action within the next 17 days before another government shutdown.A

He did it His Way

Happy New Year! Feliz AĂąo Nuevo! While the 2024 Florida Legislative session begins next week, we are all still focused on Gov. Ron DeSantis in the 2024 Republican presidential primary race, which could begin or end for him when Iowans caucus on January 15th.

There could be an Elvis sighting soon.

And now the end is here

And so I face that final curtain

My friend I'll make it clear

I'll state my case, of which I'm certain...

It’s not looking good for Gov. DeSantis, even though his so-called “influencers” or “zombies” are desperately trying to spin a potentially massive election night loss in Iowa and New Hampshire.

If DeSantis loses badly in both states, there is a good chance he will drop out and concede to Ambassador Nikki Haley and former President Donald Trump.

The latest state-level polls taken in Iowa Show President Trump with a commanding lead over both Haley and DeSantis, who are battling it out for second place with 16 and 18 percent support from those surveyed, respectfully.

The polling is worse for DeSantis in New Hampshire, where he is currently in 4th place,  polling in single digits behind former Governor Chris Christie, Haley, and Trump.

What caused DeSantis’s presidential campaign to derail?

DeSantis.

We have accurately pointed out that DeSantis’s communications and online efforts will lead to his campaign demise because he decided to hire rookie political operatives with a total of two weeks of on-the-job experience.

But while the likes, amateurish antics of Andrew Romeo and Christina Pushaw pushed him over the cliff, it was DeSantis's initial “birdbrain” idea of trying to run a top-to-bottom presidential campaign instead of the traditional bottom-up approach that so many Republican presidential candidates before him have successfully done.

Instead of DeSantis jumping in an old pick-up truck and cruising around shaking hands and kissing babies, DeSantis started with a bloated and Swamp-like bureaucratic campaign that kept him at a distance from the media, and limited access to potential voters.

After the campaign almost went bust (reboot), DeSantis switched it up a bit, but the damage was already done.

Regardless of his position as Governor of Florida, DeSantis is just a regular dude who has always been reclusive, but 2024 showed many Americans that he, like most politicians, is all about himself.

Forget about non-immediate family. Forget about friends. Forget about who got him to where he is today.

If you don’t have something immediate to offer DeSantis, you are irrelevant to him.

DeSantis is the epitome of a transactional career politician, who has entrusted amateur spokespeople to guide his political career along.

Yeah, it seems like DeSantis will lose in Iowa and the rest of the states, but this is American politics, anything can happen.

We will say it again, if DeSantis can finish at a respectable second place in all of the early voting states, all bets could be off in the contentious race.

Meanwhile, the State-of-the-State address will be next week, it will be interested to hear what DeSantis focuses on before jetting back out to Iowa.

There is a high probability that DeSantis will miss a bulk of the legislative session because he is campaigning in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, and in Super Tuesday states.

A large caravan of migrants are working their way up to the southern border, suggested to be thousands strong. Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) posted a brief video on X (formerly Twitter) pointing out the timing of the caravan in the news cycle, how these events receive organized assistance, and that they are easily avoidable.

In addition, Rep. Luna said, "There needs to be a stand-alone border bill. Don't tie it to anything else."

The Hill described how the caravan began in Mexico, made up of migrants from across Central and South America and heading north from Tapachula, near the border with Guatemala. The Mexican government's slow-walking to process migrants has contributed to the caravan's creation as a means of protection.

Rep. Luna pointed out in her video that non-governmental organizations (NGOs) frequently organize these caravans, as authorities have "literally found documentation literature and for goodness' sakes, sometimes these people have cellphones that they are actually given in order to organize these massive marches to the US-Mexico border."

A follow-up post by Rep. Luna posted information about one such NGO, known as "Pueblo Sin Fronteras" ("People Without Borders"), who organized a previous caravan in 2018.

Furthermore, Luna pointed out that migrants have come from all over the world through the border, including a worryingly high number of people on the known terrorist watchlist, something she, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL), and Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) have warned about before.

Others, Luna continued, have come from China, which Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) said are likely serving as spies for the Chinese Communist Party.

"So to hear that this is somehow a humanitarian thing, and we need to just blanket wave these people in. One, it is stupid, but also it is a political talking point. And let me be clear about something. We absolutely have the ability to stop this, and we should," Luna concluded.

Luna's video came after President Biden sent Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas to Mexico in order to negotiate a solution to the crisis.

Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) and former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Tom Homan derided the meeting as a useless gesture because House Republicans already passed the Secure the Border Act in May and have been demanding the Democrat-controlled Senate and White House pass it without trying to attach funding to Ukraine and other foreign aid.

The US launched several retaliatory strikes against Iran-backed militants in Iraq over Christmas after they attacked American troops earlier that day, injuring three. Representative Cory Mills (R-FL) appeared on Fox and Friends First to discuss, saying these retaliatory strikes mean little in the broader geopolitical perspective, and condemned the US's military interventionism without any real goals and ignoring domestic problems such as the southern border.

"What you are seeing is the interlinking of what is also happening in Israel," said Rep. Mills, explaining that Hamas and the Houthis, both backed by Iran, have escalated their attacks since October, as the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) seek to destroy Hamas and the Houthis have attacked shipping in the Red Sea, calling these "continuations of terroristic behavior by the Iranians."

More importantly, Rep. Mills argued, "We have to understand that the geopolitical alignment of China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea needs to be a broader topic for us to be discussing, not looking at attacks as singular areas."

Contributor Joey Jones compared the situation to the Iraq War following the September 11th attacks, saying Americans will be left trying to figure out how we are at war in these countries after the October 7th attacks in Israel by Hamas.

Mills replied that he and other members of Congress are seeking to revoke the Authorized Use of Military Force (AUMF) passed in 2001 and reassert Congress's sole authority to declare war, citing the resurgence of the Taliban in Afghanistan as a perfect example of why it needs to be rescinded.

"This George W. Bush, neoconservative world police kind of mentality or ideology does not work. It drains down our treasures, it costs us American lives with no real understanding of US national security interests," said Mills, further adding that "we should not be in Iraq or Syria to begin with."

"Let us bring our troops home to start thinking about how we actually build up a robust defense here at home when we have open borders that are actually allowing an invasion," Mills continued, repeating the warnings of other Florida Republicans such as Representative Anna Paulina Luna, Governor Ron DeSantis, and Senator Rick Scott.

"So let us prioritize the real priorities here, which is our southern border and American lives, not trying to protect the borders of nations or get a sense of interventionist warfare that we do not have a real solution for how we actually see success," Mills concluded.

DeSantis Wishes Everyone a Merry Christmas, His Campaign Say 'Bah Humbug' to Sununu

As Christmas is now in everyone’s rearview mirror, the 2024 Republican presidential candidates are still on break and gearing up for one last push in Iowa and New Hampshire, as those states will vote on who they feel should be the GOP presidential nominee in the coming weeks. While Gov. Ron DeSantis is tripping over his kid's toys (I can relate), and ambassador Nikki Haley is celebrating her daughter's wedding, former President Donald Trump is relaxing at Mar-a-Lago and relishing in his “yuge” lead in all the public opinion polls.

Haley and DeSantis are in a fight for second place.

Team DeSantis and its surrogates have turned on NH Gov. Chris Sununu after he abruptly pivoted and endorsed Haley over DeSantis.

It was assumed by many that Gov. Sununu would have endorsed DeSantis considering how often the two men appeared together on the campaign trail, and how glowingly Sununu spoke of DeSantis.

But the moment Sununu backed Haley, the political knives came out over at the DeSantis campaign.

At every turn, Team DeSantis has pushed back against Sununu’s praise for Haley.

Whether it's praising her over “crisis management” or ”fiscal Responsibility,” or “school choice,” DeSantis surrogates and so-called “influencers” have been trying to knock down Sununu’s words by contrasting them to DeSantis’s record.

Yeah, we all get it. It’s politics, but know that if Sununu had backed DeSantis over Haley, Sununu would be revered as the second coming of Jesus Christ.

But that is not the case, and DeSantis Nation appears to just be saying, “Jesus, it's Crist,” not Christ.

Get it.

Meanwhile, Haley is surging as is Trump. DeSantis needs to hope the heavy lift he has done on the ground in Iowa pays off and helps him come in a respectable second place in Iowa, which would help him a week later in the New Hampshire primary election.

If not, DeSantis could be served a batch of maple syrup-covered flap jacks to go along with this cooked goose.

Iowa’s caucus is January 15th and New Hampshire’s primary election is January 23.

Campaigning for his Political Career

Merry Christmas. The latest public opinion polls in Iowa and across the country paint a grim picture for Gov. Ron DeSantis's presidential campaign and his political future, as Republican voters appear settled on tapping former President Donald Trump as the 2024 Republican presidential nominee. Evangelical voters could rally behind Trump as well. DeSantis has been counting on the Bible vote to swing his way, but Trump has made significant inroads with this crucial voting bloc. READ MORE

Going into the weekend before Christmas, Gov. DeSantis has deployed a handful of big-name endorsees and supports to campaign for him around Iowa in hopes of swinging a 30% poll deficit to win the caucuses on January 15.

This is a very heavy lift, but not impossible. Well, it appears impossible, but stranger things have happened.

DeSantis has to come in a close second place in Iowa and New Hampshire.

If he doesn't, it's over.

DeSantis is currently polling 4th in New Hampshire.

This is not a good sign.

If DeSantis loses both states, he could quit the race, and look to preserve his remaining two years as governor, and any chance he has to run again in 2028.

Meanwhile, Florida GOP Vice Chairman Evan Power is expected to become the next state party chairman in early January.

Currently, Chairman Christian Ziegler has been censured and is expected to be removed from office when the political party convenes on January 8th in Tallahassee.

Florida's 2024 legislative session begins on Tuesday January 9th, when DeSantis delivers his annual State of the State address.

Rep. Cory Mills-There's been 102 attacks on US troops in the Middle East since October 17th – an alarming number! Under Joe Biden's administration, attacks on our troops in Iraq have skyrocketed.

There has been no retaliation or repercussions – our adversaries see a clear sign of weakness with Biden in the White House.

“Weakness invites Aggression”

We can expect these attacks to continue until we either thwart their efforts with support of local government partnerships, or remove our troops from harms way and bring them home.

I am ready to bring our troops home as no clear strategic mission or national security interests has been established.

Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus McCormick-.@SecBecerra is right to sound the alarm about the Medicaid unwinding in Florida. 380,000 children are now without health coverage. This cannot continue. That is why I have been vocal about the need to protect our children from losing access to care.

All Hail the new Chief?

Florida GOP Chairman Christian Ziegler's goose hasn't even been cooked through yet, and Republicans have already stuck a fork in him over the sexual assault allegations he was hit with. Vice Chairman Evan Power is rolling out some hefty endorsements in his bid to be the next Grand Poobah of the state Republican Party of Florida.

We first reported that top elected Republican officials were on the verge of endorsing his candidacy and were right.

Some local Republican executive committees have also gone all in for Power. Pasco, Lake, and Broward have all endorsed, including the popular State Committeewoman Michele Merrell

AG Commissioner Wilton Simpson, Reps. Matt Gaetz and Laurel Lee, State Senators Blaise Ingoglia, Jay Collins, and Joe Gruters.

Interestingly enough, Ziegler was vice chairman of the state party under Sen. Gruters.

Gov. Ron DeSantis and Senator Marco Rubio have both called on Ziegler to resign, but have yet to throw their support behind Ziegler. Power's wife is close to familia DeSantis, having worked on the governor's gubernatorial reelection campaign.

Marco Rubio—"The U.S. has put sanctions on other countries for doing exactly what the Colorado Supreme Court has done today."

Matt Gaetz—Democrats are trying to imprison their chief political opponent and have now apparently succeeded at removing him from the ballot. This is what dictators do.

I’m confident that the U.S. Supreme Court will not allow this egregious ruling to stand. The American people will decide their next president, not activist judges in Colorado.

Byron Donalds—This is blatant disenfranchisement of millions of voters from the Colorado Supreme Court.

Trump says it best: They’re not after me. They’re after you. I’m just in the way. TRUMP 2024.

Kat Cammack—The Colorado ruling is an affront to our republic. The court opting to disenfranchise voters and strip their voice ought to be a concern for every American regardless of their opinions on President Trump. Frankly this is judicial activism at its utter worst. When judges limit our choices in a free election, it is no longer a free election.

House Republicans are preparing contempt of Congress charges against Hunter Biden after he refused to appear for a closed-door deposition regarding the Biden family's supposed influence-peddling scheme. Democrats have continually pushed the narrative that no evidence of the scheme exists. Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) mockingly said she "felt bad" for Democrats denying the evidence, saying they are fully aware of the evidence's existence and worried it will cost them the White House in 2024 in a recent Fox Report appearance.

In addition to saying, "There is absolutely evidence for impeachment," Rep. Luna highlighted the fact that the banks through whom the money House Republicans have been tracking are not only cooperating but have pointed out "there was no proof of loan paperwork," referring to the $40,000 check written out by James Biden to his brother Joe as a "loan repayment."

Furthermore, the same bank investigator raised concerns the money was obtained from foreign sources, further suggesting the likelihood of it coming through selling influence.

"There has been foreign influence peddling," said Rep. Luna, "And remember, the FBI had a redacted document where there was an executive in Ukraine that was essentially bragging about the fact that he was working with Hunter Biden and that Joe Biden was providing protection," she continued, referencing the 1023 form released by Congress over the summer, wherein a confidential human source alleged a Burisma executive held 17 audio recordings implicating the Bidens.

On top of that, IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler testified before Congress that their superiors intentionally stonewalled their investigation into Hunter Biden.

"So when you hear these elected Representatives that are Democrats, that are saying there is no evidence, I feel bad for them because frankly, they know it is there, and they know that it is going to hurt Joe Biden, especially with his reelection," Luna concluded.

Earlier in December, colleague Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) also blasted House Democrats for dismissing evidence against the Bidens right after discovering direct payments to Joe from Hunter through his Owasco PC firm. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre abruptly ended a conference when questioned about this new revelation, which Rep. Donalds said only implicated how "Joe Biden lied to the American people when he said he had no idea what his son was doing" and "lied when he said that he and his family never took money from foreign sources."

After a veterans hospital in Tampa prohibited a nurse from seeing patients due to the practitioner’s inability to meet standards, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and his cohorts in the upper chamber have questions for the Veterans Affairs (VA) regarding the situation.

The event occurred at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital Tampa (Tampa VA).

In a letter to VA Secretary Denis McDonough, Sen. Rubio and his colleagues were concerned that the VA failed to notify the proper chain of command in a timely fashion.

“We are concerned that the VA did not notify our offices or initiate a three-month clinical review of the situation until November 2023,” the senators wrote. “Florida’s veterans deserve the highest level of service and transparency about their health care, and we expect the VA to act expeditiously to notify veterans about the situation and the steps the VA is taking to rectify the situation.”

They continued by adding that they believe many patients could’ve been affected due to the “lack of proper care” from the hospital.

“We are additionally concerned that the clinical review period to redress this issue does not span a long enough time frame to review possible impacts on deceased patients. The nurse practitioner was employed by the Tampa VA for 21 years, yet the clinical review period only spans through October 2021. We are concerned that there may be deceased patients outside the purview of the current clinical review impacted by the lack of proper care,” said Sen. Rubio and the lawmakers.

They requested that the government agency demonstrate documentation of the “overall health and wellbeing” that could’ve been impacted by the provider at the time.

The senators concluded, “Veterans put their trust in the VA to receive high quality health care from attentive and professional medical providers. When the providers fail to meet these standards, veterans deserve timely communication about steps the VA is taking to address their health care needs and concerns going forward.”

Rubio was joined by Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) as well as U.S. Representatives Scott Franklin (R-FL), Greg Steube (R-FL), Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), Laurel Lee (R-FL), Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), Vern Buchanan (R-FL), and Kathy Castor (D-FL).

First Son Hunter Biden has been indicted on 9 news tax-related charges as the House's impeachment inquiry continues revealing more information. Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) discussed the indictment and what this means for the investigation in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria, saying, "This is part of the Biden family criminal enterprise," and, "We are just hitting the tip of the iceberg."

Host Maria Bartiromo pointed out that Hunter's defense attorney, Abbe Lowell, argued, "If Hunter’s last name was anything other than Biden, the charges in Delaware, and now California, would not have been brought."

Rep. Gimenez replied this only proved "We need to keep following this, where it leads, and a lot of it, unfortunately, is leading to the Biden family, the brother [Jim], and the President himself."

The new charges come just before Hunter's expected testimony before Congress and could complicate his appearance.

"If he does not show up, he could be found in contempt of Congress," said Rep. Gimenez, "And that leads to other charges and other legal problems for Hunter. It may be very difficult for him to show up and try to explain where all this money came from and why this money came to him."

The Florida Congressman referenced the approximately 20 shell companies supposedly used by the Bidens to launder money taken from foreign sources, adding, "The more that [Hunter] talks, the more avenues will now be open for additional investigation. I think we are just hitting the tip of the iceberg here, I do not think we have gotten to the bottom yet."

In the previous broadcast, Bartiromo spoke with Hunter's former business partner Tony Bobulinski, who accused President Biden of "blatantly lying to the American people and the world" about being involved in his son's business, claiming to have met Joe Biden for business purposes.

Gimenez replied, "Joe Biden is the brand, and the only reason that Hunter Biden was making all of this money that he had to evade taxes for was because his father was the Vice President of the United States," agreeing with Bobulinski that Joe "has been lying to the American people," which he has done for 40 years.

Bartiromo finally asked Gimenez if he believed the countries from whom Biden has supposedly taken bribes influenced his policy decisions as President.

"I have said all along that none of what President Biden has been doing since he became president makes sense unless you view it through the lens that somehow, he is compromised," Gimenez answered, echoing comments made by Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) and Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL).
